Spring force requests will not be available for online submission until 8 a.m. on the first day of open registration beginning Monday, November 25; the force request will close Thursday, December 19, NO LATE FORCE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Forcing will conclude the week before spring classes begin.
Prerequisites for BICH and GENE courses are listed in Howdy. If you receive a prerequisite restriction error when registering and have taken the appropriate prerequisite course at another institution but have not yet transferred the credit, you will need to submit proof of completion to the Undergraduate Office for an override. This can either be done in person by bringing a copy of an unofficial transcript to BICH 104 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The email must be sent from your TAMU email address. The document must include the course name and number, institution and your full name.
It is the departmental policy that instructor approval will be granted only in the rarest of circumstances, and such requests must be submitted in writing through the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics Undergraduate Program Office for consideration. Requests for prerequisite waiver must include a statement from the student’s Academic Advisor affirming the circumstances that lead to the request. Please note that CHEM 222 or CHEM 227 are NOT considered to be adequate prerequisites for BICH 409 or 410.
