Spring 2019 force requests will not be available for online submission until 8 a.m. on the first day of open registration beginning Friday, November 30.
Prerequisites for BICH and GENE courses are listed in Howdy. If you receive a prerequisite restriction error when registering and have taken or will be taking the appropriate course before the semester you intend to take the requested BICH or GENE course, then you will need to submit proof of completion or enrollment to the Undergraduate Office for an override. This can either be done in person by bringing a copy of a student schedule or unofficial transcript to BICH 104 or emailed to email@example.com. The email must be sent from your TAMU email address. The document must include the course name and number, institution and your full name. If you took the prerequisite at another institution and it is reflected on your unofficial transcript in Howdy, please state this in your email.
It is the departmental policy that instructor approval will be granted only in the rarest of circumstances, and such requests must be submitted in writing through the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics Undergraduate Program Office for consideration. Requests for prerequisite waiver must include a statement from the student’s Academic Advisor affirming the circumstances that lead to the request. Please note that CHEM 222 or CHEM 227 are NOT considered to be adequate prerequisites for BICH 410.
