Work from the Devarenne and Holzenburg labs is highlighted on the cover of this month’s issue of Eukaryotic Cell.

Weiss et al used quick-freeze deep-etch electron microscopy to localize liquid hydrocarbon sequestration in a biofuels algae, Botryococcus braunii.   This work suggests ways to engineer the algae to secrete their hydrocarbons directly into the medium, improving the practicality of harvesting fuel from this photosynthetic organism.  The cover image was taken at the Texas A&M Microscopy and Imaging Center.
