21st Annual Graduate Student Research Competition

Slide1
This Friday, February 22, 2013 at 4PM CST, the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics will hold its annual Graduate Student Research Competition. Talks were selected from 23 submitted abstracts describing outstanding work being done by grad students in the department. Cash prizes generously provided by our sponsoring vendors will be awarded for the top three talks.

The image is from the work of the 2012 winner, Karl Gorzelnik from Paul Straight’s lab. Karl described how imaging mass spectrometry was used to identify a novel enzyme involved in the communication between two different bacterial species.

Be sure to attend the vendor show before the competition.
